On the occasion of its Keynote event on September 12, Apple has announced three new iPhones: they will the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and finally the iPhone X, We have summarised everything you need to know about about Apple’s latest smartphones.
The iPhone 8
The iPhone 8 will come with a 4.7-inch screen, it’s available in three colors silver, gray and gold. The iPhone 8 will be equipped with an A11 chip with six cores that is said to be 70% faster than the A10 chip. Two storage capacities are proposed: 64 GB and 256 GB. Prices will range from £699 to £849. It has a wireless charging system compatible with the world’s most popular standard, Qi. As expected no Apple charger …. but instead we have to rely on partners like Mophie or Belkin whose products will be sold at Apple Stores. The iPhone 8 opens up to augmented reality, its sensors make it possible to give full use of this technology via the recognition of light and depth to integrate virtual elements.
iPhone 8 Plus
The iPhone 8 Plus is also available in three colours (silver, gray and gold) and two storage capacities (64 GB and 256 GB). Its wider screen is 5.5 inches. If the iPhone 8 has only one camera sensor, the iPhone 8 Plus will have two and have a capacity of 12 megapixels.
The iPhone X
As expected, the Home button disappears. To turn on the iPhone X, you will need to press the screen and to go the home screen, you will need to swipe your finger from bottom to top. The face recognition also makes its arrival with Face ID, a system of unlocking the smartphone that we have already seen on Samsung’s Galaxy S8. Phil Schiller (VP Marketing of Apple) announced that the technology which will work with Apple Pay, is even more reliable than the Touch ID. However all of this will set you back quite a bit in terms of price as the iPhone X has a hefty tag starting at £999 and going up to £1,149.00.
