Lenovo Smart Display: first look and features
Lenovo Smart Display is the first smart speaker which makes use of Google’s Smart Displays with Google Assistant. Lenovo Smart Display comes in two versions; an 8-inch and 10-inch model. The Lenovo Smart Display became available for purchase on July 27, 2018.
Lenovo Smart Display is indeed an outstanding smart device with various unique features.
Google assistant
One of the highlight features on the Lenovo Smart Display is Google’s voice assistant, this enables you to remind yourself to send a birthday card, make calls hands-free, relax by playing your favourite tunes, and even get cooking tips. You can also get weather information, and receive updates on the latest news.
Unique design
Lenovo Smart Display is masterfully designed with a large screen dominating the front of the device and the speaker grille on the left side of the device. Also, the rear of the Lenovo Smart Display can expand into a triangular shape on one end, with this feature; it makes it interesting to view from the back of the device. Moreover, the triangular rear enables it to stand either in landscape or portrait mode.
At the top edge of the Lenovo Smart Display, are the volume controls and a button to turn off the microphone. There is also a slider on the right edge that blocks the Smart Display’s 5-MP camera.
High quality display

both the 10-inch and 8-inch versions of Lenovo Smart Display are very impressive. The photos, videos, and colours always appear crisp and bright.
The larger 10″ model features a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1200), whilst the smaller Lenovo comes with a HD (1280 x 800) resolution. Both displays make for a very pleasant viewing experience when watching videos or movies. This will be great when using apps like YouTube, and Google Play Movies.
Audio quality
Both models feature a 10-watt speaker; the 10-inch version has a 2-inch speaker while the smaller version comes with a 1.75″ speaker. They are also designed with two passive tweeters, there is good bass balance in the sound from both versions of the Lenovo Smart Display.
Interface

Lenovo smart Display has an easy to use interface, the touch screen can be used for a lot of tasks like swiping to reveal cards for the weather, calendar, and your recently performed actions. Additionally, you can control your home devices with your voice, e.g, changing the room temperature and controlling the lights of your home.
Another feature of this smart device is the Ambient Mode that shows the time and the weather, as well as images from your Google Photo account, which can be changed or disabled. There is also an experimental mode which will display content from your Facebook and Flickr accounts.
