1. Who we are
TechMatador ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us using the contact form.
2. What data we collect and why
| Data | Purpose | Lawful basis (UK and EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, website and message you send through our contact form, plus your IP address | To reply to your enquiry, provide a quote or service, and prevent spam and abuse | Legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and keeping the site secure) or steps prior to a contract |
| Technical data such as IP address and server logs | Security and site operation | Legitimate interests |
| Analytics data (pages viewed, device, browser, approximate location, cookie identifiers), where analytics is enabled | To understand and improve how the site is used | Consent |
| Advertising data (cookie identifiers, ad click and conversion events), where advertising measurement is enabled | To measure the performance of our advertising | Consent |
3. Cookies and consent
We only set analytics or marketing cookies, or load tools such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads or Meta Pixel, after you give consent through our cookie banner. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. We ask again after six months. See our Cookie Policy for details.
4. Who we share data with
Contact form messages are sent by email to us through our web hosting provider's servers. Our hosting and email providers process this data on our behalf. If you consent to analytics or marketing cookies, data is also shared with the relevant provider: Google (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads) and Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel). We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with professional advisers or authorities where required by law.
5. International transfers
Some providers, including Google and Meta, process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens we rely on adequacy decisions (such as the UK-US Data Bridge and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
6. How long we keep data
We keep enquiries only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record-keeping afterwards, unless you become a client, in which case we keep records as needed for the contract and legal obligations. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser for up to six months. Analytics data, where enabled, is kept for no more than 14 months.
7. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict your data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us through the contact form. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, or the data protection authority in your EU country.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
